The mission of Cannon Institute is to provide our students with valued, professional, and meaningful education. Combining innovative learning and an environment that will enhance our student’s business capabilities and opportunities is our main focus. We at Cannon accomplish this through “real world” learning. Our instructors teach with the knowledge and experience gained from decades practicing the art and science of appraising residential and commercial properties. We provide education that benefits both the practitioner and the public.
In the 2014-15 USPAP publication the word “meaningful” is referenced more than 14 times. We affirm the following: “We should always work to educate our minds and our hands so we can succeed in our chosen fields. Our education should be an influence for good and our use of it should distinguish us as people of integrity. A good education will prepare us for opportunities as they come and will help us be an asset…..” — see True to the Faith (2004), 50-51
“Qualifying” courses are the ones that you must take to earn your license. They provide you with the knowledge of basic appraisal principles and practices, relevant laws and regulations as well as professional standards needed to pass your state’s real estate appraisal exam.
All appraisers are required to continue to grow professionally and stay up-to-date by taking continuing education courses. The number of hours required and frequency is determined on a state-by-state basis.
Chuck Johnson is the best Appraisal Teacher I have had over my career in the industry. He really cares, not only about the Appraisal industry, but also about his students. I have also seen over the years he is very respected throughout our state and also on a national level. Some teahcers have that special skill to communuicate to their students the proper understanding of the subjects and he is exceptional in this skill. Thanks Chuck, it’s great to have you as a teacher in today’s rapidly changing Appraisal industry.
Here is what your peers are saying about Cannon’s new HUD FHA Course, instructor, Jeremy C. Johnson
Refreshing to have a knowledgeable, non pompous instructor. Treated the class with the respect that people with 10-20 yrs. of experience deserve. Good sense of humor- didn’t get bored-… Even the book was good.
